Megadeth

Founded by Dave Mustaine in 1983 after his departure from Metallica, Megadeth made its name with tightly arranged, technically demanding thrash. Early albums such as Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying? and Rust in Peace established the band among the genre’s central acts; Countdown to Extinction later brought that precision to a broader audience. The 2020s brought a renewed creative run with The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead! (2022), followed by the self-titled Megadeth in January 2026. The band has described that 17th record as its final studio album and is taking its catalogue on a global farewell tour.
